Social Networking and the Masses

I heard this week that Texas Tech has pulled the plug on Twitter by its players. I think that it is a good idea, because the players need to focus on the Game and not on letting the World know every little comment that comes from their head.

I think they should do that for all the Major Sports, too. Whether it will impact the Gameplay of the individual player maybe up for debate. The World doesn't necessarily need to know what goes on behind closed doors.

That's why to doors are closed, because the information is intended for the people in the room at the time. If the Coach wants the outside world to know what went on behind closed doors, he would tell everybody.

I would say that the ban on Twitter by palyers on a Sports Team during the Regular Season, in my opinion, would be fine. What the players do on their off time is up to them, but leave the Social Networking for later if you are in the middle of an important Game.
